The National Registry System Japanese



The National Registry is the registry to ensure the accurate accounting of the issuance, holding, transfer, acquisition, cancellation and retirement of Kyoto Units (Assigned Amount Unit; AAU, Removal Unit; RMU, Emission Reduction Unit; ERU, Certified Emission Reduction; CER).

In Japan, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Ministry of the Environment (MOE) shall develop and operate the national registry as Administrators of the National Registry, according to the decision of Global Warming Countermeasures Promotion Headquarters, July 19, 2002.
